The Bulan is a thong that pays attention to detail — front and back.
At the front, the Joe fabric does what it does best: a smooth, dense black that sits close to the body without clinging, the pouch shaped with care and a subtle center seam that gives it clean definition. The PetitQ badge sits at the right hip in red — the only point of color on an otherwise entirely black piece, landing with exactly the right amount of contrast. The waistband is flat and structured across the front, sitting low at the hip.
At the back, the same waistband shifts character. The elastic is gathered, creating a pleated effect that draws the fabric inward — and in doing so, pulls the seat into a rounder, more sculpted shape. It's not a passive detail: the gathering actively works on the body, the pleated band doing more for the rear silhouette than a flat band ever could. The thong strap drops from that point, the result below already defined by what the elastic above has done.
Joe fabric in black is opaque, smooth, and holds its shape without stiffness — the kind of fabric that performs quietly and consistently whether worn as underwear or used in the water.
